We are the world’s leading organization dedicated to children. We are on the ground on six continents, fighting for children rights to be commonly respected. Every day, we deliver our help to meet children’s basic needs, so they can develop and use their full potential regardless of the place of life, religion or race.
Only in 2008, we have provided:
- 2.6 billion vaccines
- 800 million doses of vitamin A
- almost 20 million insecticide treated nets
- over 12 million HIV test kits
- over 200 thousand school kits
- 10 thousand tons of therapeutic food for malnourished children
Furthermore in 2008 we have intervened in 78 countries that suffered from natural disasters or wars. We provided protection from violence, trafficking, exploitation and war to vulnerable children. We were convincing adults that children should play and learn, so they could grow to be strong and wise citizens.
For over 60 years, together with 12 million donors, big corporations, small companies, Goodwill Ambassadors and active volunteers, we give children a chance of a better future.
